After years of outstanding work as ARES Northern District Emergency 
Coordinator (DEC) for Nevada, Paul Cavnar NN7B has decided to take a break 
for a while.  I can't think of anyone in the Section who has done more or 
worked harder for ARES than Paul.  His dedication and commitment were truly 
limitless.

To fill those very, very big shoes, Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC) 
Dick Creley KJ7UK has asked Don Carlson KQ6FM to step in.  As many of you 
know, Don was recently appointed Section Public Information Coordinator 
(PIC).  What some of you may not know, however, is up until three months 
ago Don was Section Emergency Coordinator for the Santa Clara Valley 
Section in Northern California.  This in-depth ARES background will help 
Don hit the ground running and continue the great job Paul has begun.
