There will be an ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course (ARECC)
Certification Examination (CE) session this Thursday evening, June 12th, at
6:30 p.m. in the Carson Valley.
All three ARRL ARECC course examinations will be offered (Level I, II and
III). The examination fee will be $10 per course. Examinees should bring
one picture ID or two non-picture IDs. Successful completeion of Level I
is required to take the Level II exam and successfully completion of Level
II is required to take the Level III exam. Examinees should bring proof of
having passed any prerequisite courses.
All examinations are "open book" (books not provided) and any or even all
of the exams may be taken so long as the prerequisite courses are passed in
order. At the recent EMCOMMWEST, we even had one person sit down and
qualify for all three certificates!
The session will be at the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center at the
Minden/Tahoe airport between Minden and Carson City. The Sierra Front
complex is at the end of Firebrand Road, off Heybourne Road midway between
Johnson Lane and Airport Road. A map can be found at
http://www.cvrc.net/images/SierraFrontMap.gif.
For those who cannot or prefer not to take the ARRL on-line ARECC courses,
this session provides a unique opportunity to qualify for these well-known
course certificates. The examinations are sponsored by the Carson Valley
Radio Club (http://www.cvrc.net). For additional information contact:
