Greetings to all -

Following the VE session in Reno next Saturday, August 16, I will be
presenting training on packet radio operations. The presentation will begin
at 1:00 P.M. in classroom 1D197 at the VA Medical Center in Reno. Talk-in
frequency will be 147.120+/123.0. The presentation will discuss why packet
is regaining its popularity locally as well as nationwide, basic packet
equipment and operations, and how packet radio provides a versatile means of
communications in emergencies. When previously presented, the presentation
ran approximately two hours (included a brief recess period). This training
is open to all interested amateurs; Washoe County ARES/RACES members are
particularly encouraged to attend. For further information or directions,
contact me on the 146.610 (SNARS) repeater system, via packet on 145.050
mhz. (connect to N7TOD via RNO or WX7RNO-7 nodes), by e-mail at
[email protected], or by telephone at 425-6102.
