New River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Meeting held at the Blacksburg Fire Station #3

Reports
Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener
The July meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on 8/24. No corrections or additions were received. Thanks to Christopher Peters for taking good notes.

Treasurer’s Report – Steve Allen
Club finances in good shape. Have sent check to the City of Refuge (double the usual amount since we missed last year.)

WinLink Update – Danny Wylam
Cloyd’s Mt. is still down, Brush mountain operating fine.

Repeater Update – Mike Herring
Still waiting on some repairs.

Club Donation Acknowledgements
Cam Coble donated a new battery for workstation #3

Club Calendar

  *   November 11 – Veteran’s Day Special Event

Old Business

Christopher Peters tried to order a Quadplexor. Payments to Russia are currently not allowed. Will look for alternate source. Need something to cover 10,15, 20, and 40 meters.

Also checking on options for a new laptop for Winlink. Plan to purchase something soon.

New Business

Steve Allen shared some of his extensive collection of QSL cards from around the world.

Blings n Things – “Ham Hobbies: When Radio Meets Real Life” – Members talked about how they combine ham radio with other hobbies like RVing or 3-D printing.
