Roy, W4DFD (Thanks Roy!) helped with our repeater to remove the tone
generated from the repeater, and that seems to have helped our feedback
issue. We still have the interference at times, but this should keep the
repeater from starting up and staying on.
What this means for you...
- IF you are using tone squelch, you'll need to disable that to hear our
repeater
- If you don't know what that is, you're probably OK
- You still need to transmit a tone (CTCSS) to access the repeater
The test would be to listen to hear the repeater ID or announce the hour.
If you wish to transmit into it to check (probably won't help you know if
it's working anyway), please identify with your callsign (don't "kerchunk"
the repeater). It's per regulation anyways.
Next steps are to try an isolator per Nelson, Linkous (Thanks Nelson!).
73!
