New River Valley Amateur Radio Club
Meeting held at the Blacksburg Fire Station #3
Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM

Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener
The January meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on 3/23. No corrections or additions were received.
Treasurer’s Report – Cam Coble for Steve Allen
Club finances in good shape. 2025 renewals still coming in.
WinLink Update – Danny Wylam
Both tested and working OK.
Repeater Update – Cam Coble for Mike Herring
Still having interference issues haven’t been able to make it back up the mountain

New Business
New River Community College – Cam Coble
Have an active Ham Radio club, planning an event for April 8th. They currently have very limited equipment. Set up HF and VHF stations to demo amateur radio. [Event cancelled]
EmComm Training – Cam Coble
Added a new set of training documentation on emergency communications that the net control operator can use at their discretion. Will try to incorporate training during the Thursday night nets. Discussion of how the training is going so far.

Shack Pack – Cam Coble
Cam showed the contents of the new Shack Pack that will be available for loan to newly licensed hams. He also shared some of the details of the checkout agreement. Christopher Peters will handle signing the equipment out.
Blings n Things – Cam Coble
“DX Dreams: Chasing the Far and Exotic” – Club members shared techniques, tools, and tales of long-distance QSOs.
