EMPs can be caused by CMEs.

Here's a resource I found with a practical DIY solution that will help mitigate effects of an EMP for ham gear by means of a galvanized bucket with lid and aluminum HVAC tape. https://offgridham.com/2017/11/emp/

It’s not 100% guaranteed but might make the difference. Don’t forget to put your gear inside it. 😊
