 All, below are the minutes of our last meeting. Please let me know of any
additions or corrections that may be needed.

Note that because of the upcoming Memorial Day holiday our May meeting will
be on the 3rd Monday of the month rather than the 4th Monday as usual.
Look for an agenda coming shortly.

New River Valley Amateur Radio Club

Meeting held at the Blacksburg Fire Station #3



Meeting called to order at 7:10 PM

Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener

The February meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on 4/22. No
corrections or additions were received.



Treasurer’s Report – Cam Coble for Steve Allen

New Yaesu FT-710 has now come in. Cam is working on getting it set up.



WinLink Update – Danny Wylam.

No problems this past month.



Repeater Update – Mike Herring

Everything is working as it should.



Club Donation Acknowledgements

Cam Coble donated a case and USB cable for the new radio

Club Shirts – Cam Coble

Most have now been distributed and paid for.



*New Business*



Audie Murphy Special Event – Danny Wylam

This will be the club’s fifth year doing the event. Put listing in QST,
also registered with QSO.com.  Plan to use 3 stations, one with VHF.
Everyone should bring their own food and beverages.  Jim, W4BEA and
Patrick, KN4PDL are trying to get a story in the newspaper.



Field Day Planning – Cam Coble

In good shape for the main stuff (shelter, generator, etc.).  Would like to
add a GOTA (Get On The Air) station to give those without a license a
chance to try HAM radio.  Also want to try to make a satellite
contact.  Education
activity will be related to the popular FT-8 digital mode.



New Member Application – Cam Coble

All voted in favor.



*Blings n Things* – “Vintage Voltage Voyage”



Members displayed and talked about their vintage radio equipment.



Meeting adjourned at 9:10 pm
