FYI, The latest ARRL Letter features a story about Ted Rappaport being inducted into the IEEE hall of fame.  While he is now based at NYU, Dr. Rappaport was a professor at Virginia Tech for many years and founded the Mobile and Portable Radio Research Group, a forerunner of Wireless at VT<https://wireless.vt.edu/>

The announcement also mentions a series he is working on regarding the history of radio called the Crucible of Communications. Part 1 is now out and can be found on the IEEE Xplore platform at https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9928087  (IEEE Xplore is a subscription resource but this article is freely available.)
