have already passed. There was no December meeting.)

11/27/2023



New River Valley Amateur Radio Club

Meeting held at the Blacksburg Fire House. In addition, a simultaneous Zoom
session was held.



Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM



Welcome from Christopher Peters as Vice-President

Introduction of officers



*Reports*

Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener

The October meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on 11/26. No
corrections or additions were received.



Treasurer’s Report – Christopher Peters for Steve Allen

First membership renewal for 2024 has now come in. Can do via Paypal on
club website. Cash or check also accepted.



WinLink Update – Danny Wylam.

Things are working well again. No issues this month.



Repeater Update – Mike Herring

Everything seems to be working well. Let him know of any issues.



Club Donation Acknowledgements – Christopher Peters

None.



*Old Business*



January Eat and Meet – Christopher Peters and Jim Hassall will coordinate.
After discussion group identified Saturday, January 13th as the best
date.  Meeting
will be at Sal’s in Radford like last year.



Club T-Shirts – Since Cam Coble was unable to attend this topic was
postponed for future discussion.





*New Business*

Election of Officers – The nominating committee was asked to prepare a
slate of officers for the November meeting.  John Morehead chaired the
committee, with Patrick Johnson and Len Sutphin serving as members.



All four of the existing officers have agreed to serve for another year.  The
nominating committee made the following recommendations:

President - Cam Coble

Vice President - Christopher Peters

Treasurer - Steve Allen

Secretary - Edward Lener



Jim Hassell made a motion in support and Cindy Turner seconded. The vote
passed unanimously.





*Blings n Things* – “Apps for Days”



Members talked about their favorite ham radio applications on computer or
mobile device.  Everyone was encouraged to send Cam Coble any ideas about
possible Blings n Things themes for 2024.





Meeting adjourned at 7:40 PM.



There were a total of 14 attendees (12 in-person, and 2 on Zoom)
