Got up early this AM to listen but couldn't hear N5J on 20m CW, but heard
stations calling them. Didn't check the other bands.
Heard and worked VK3EY, Rob in Victoria, Aus on 20m phone band. Not bad for
my tuned random wire and 50W. But, I give Rob the credit for pulling me out
of the QRM with his quad beam. He was running 400W. Super nice Guy! Gave me
a 55 by the end of the QSO when conditions picked up.
Right after me a ham I know 20 miles away worked Rob using his multiband
vertical.
Dawn+ is a good time to make a cup of coffee and tune around on 20m to see
what you can hear. You don't need a super duper XCVR and antenna to work
some nice DX. Give it a try!
