New River Valley Amateur Radio Club

Meeting held at the Blacksburg Fire House. In addition, a simultaneous Zoom
session was held.



Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM



Welcome from Cam Coble as President

Introduction of officers



*Reports*

Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener

The July meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on August 26th. No
corrections or additions were received.



Treasurer’s Report – Cam Coble for Steve Allen

Club is in good standing.



WinLink Update – Danny Wylam

Brush Mountain working well. At Cloyd Mountain Danny and Cam worked with
All Points Broadband to resolve internet connectivity issues and restore
access.



Repeater Update – Mike Herring

Went up to the mountain a couple of times.  Everything seems to be working
now.



*Old Business*



Field Day Wrap-up – Cam Coble

Would like to establish teams of 2-3 people each to cover needed tasks and
practice in advance. Ex. One team for antenna setup.



*New Business*



September VHF Contest – Christopher Peters

ARRL September VHF contest will start Sept. 9th. Anyone interested in
activating N4NRV as part of a club effort should contact Christopher for
details.  {Note - Cancelled due to bad weather}



Amateur Radio Resources at the VT Library – Ed Lener

Ed reminded everyone that Virginia residents can check out materials from
the Virginia Tech library and shared a list of some of the books available
there related to Amateur Radio.



*Blings n Things* –Saving for a Rainy Day.

Members talked about their long-term plans to purchase radio-related
equipment.
