If you haven't tried Olivia, it is cool! Try it even if you miss the
QSO party. I have used it on 1296 and 432 and (don't tell anyone!)
even 80m. It can become habit forming. I once had an hour long 80m
QSO with a station in NY. Its weak signal performance is almost as
good as WSJT's FT-8 but you can have a real keyboard to keyboard QSO
with it. I have been using a program called Fldigi (
http://www.w1hkj.com/beginners.html) that uses your computer's sound
card. Its setup is bit more involved than WSTJ but the program will
run a number of popular digital modes like RTTY, PSK31 etc. Versions
are available for Winders, OS-X and Linux.
