Below are minutes of our October 14th meeting. Please let me know if any

11/28/2022
New River Valley Amateur Radio Club
April 2022 marked the return to in-person club meetings, with the meeting
held at the Pulaski County School Board Building. In addition, a
simultaneous Zoom session was held.
Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM
Welcome and brief introductions from Cam Coble as President
*Reports*
Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener
The October meeting minutes were sent to the club reflector on Nov.2. No
corrections or additions were received.
Treasurer’s Report – Cam Coble for Steve Allen
Club is in good standing. Renewals for 2023 have started to come in.
WinLink Update – Danny Wylam
Everything seems to be working fine. Someone reported that the location of
the nodes is incorrect, Cam and Danny will investigate further and fix if
needed.
Repeater Update – Mike Herring
Everything seems to be working well. Please let him know of any problems.
*Old Business*
Winter Build Project Update – Cam Coble
Have five people who registered. Sign-ups are now closed. Sessions will be
held in December. Cam will also post the videos for later viewing by
others. Will build the Ozark Patrol regenerative receiver kit from the Four
State QRP Group.

*New Business*
Nominating Committee – Len Sutphin
All four of the existing officers have agreed to serve for another year. The
nominating committee made the following recommendations:
President - Cam Coble
Vice President - Christopher Peters
Treasurer - Steve Allen
Secretary - Edward Lener
Jim Hassell made a motion in support and Pete Burkey seconded. The vote
passed unanimously.
2023 Membership Renewals – Cam Coble
Now available online, can pay via Paypal. Also is an option to print out
form and mail in with payment.
New Member Application
Bernard Lewis, KQ4ATI
Bernie was present at the meeting and introduced himself. Cindy Turner also
spoke on his behalf. A vote was held and all were in favor of approving
membership.
Winter Field Day Planning – Cam Coble
Planning to hold Winger Field Day at the Appalachian Conference Center in
Dublin. Should be able to use the same building as last year but hope to
have heat. Will use the DX Commander antenna and the new triplexer to run 3
different bands on it. Event will start at 2:00 PM on January 29th 2023.
January Eating Meeting – Cam Coble
Will send out info by email to get a head count. Will need to find a new
location.
*Blings n Things* – “Thank You Elmer”
Members shared stories of those who helped them get started in ham radio.
Several people also spoke about the value of club membership as a way to
expand their skills and learn from others in our area.
Meeting adjourned at 8:05 PM.
There were a total of 15 attendees (9 in-person, and 6 on Zoom)
