If you participated in our club meeting last night, you may have listened
in on my POTA pack experience. I mentioned the unsolicited great audio
reports with my setup. With nothing more than the stock mic, I give full
credit to the settings published by Bob Heil. Here are more recommended
settings for Yaesu and other radios:

I can tell you that using the parametric EQ settings makes a substantial
difference in communication with other stations. This is NOT setting you up
to sound like an AM broadcast station, but instead, a communications
station that emphasises articulation in the speech audio spectrum.
