Pretty exited about this as well. I think there are quite a few people out
there who have been making the wspr standalone units that will love the
access to the much larger group of receiving stations running ft8. Seems
like a game changer

Group,
Randl.com has the DM 1801 HT digital moble radio for $65.00 with free
shipping. I purchased one and am now starting to learn about code
plugs and how to program these little radios. Does anyone have a code
plug with local to Christiansburg-Radford repeaters programmed in?
Any resources to get up to speed on these rigs would be most welcome.

Good Morning Patrick,
I can forward you a couple of learning links that might prove helpful.
Also have you applied for your number for DMR yet? That will be the first
thing you should do or you won't get on to the database. You can find that
place to register here at https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dmrva.org%2F&data=04%7C01%7C%7Ca054e6b1676c4bacadd108d984542e20%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637686319370995235%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=fSG4ynzbx6ytmzqZmSgjaN3KCC20wqQb%2FGih49RNvsQ%3D&reserved=0, it is the first place to
go without getting conflicting information from the people who think they
know a lot. :) No offence to a lot of good meaning Folks out there,
but......It is what it is. You caa=n learn about Virginia base repeaters
here and a lot of information. After that go to the Radio Reference WIKI
page here at https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwiki.radioreference.com%2Findex.php%2FDMR&data=04%7C01%7C%7Ca054e6b1676c4bacadd108d984542e20%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637686319370995235%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=Gy72qCFXV4b9W7LI3%2Fwbrc0iVtiFkS5n6eCMDeWEI5k%3D&reserved=0
<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwiki.radioreference.com%2Findex.php%2FDMR&data=04%7C01%7C%7Ca054e6b1676c4bacadd108d984542e20%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637686319370995235%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=Gy72qCFXV4b9W7LI3%2Fwbrc0iVtiFkS5n6eCMDeWEI5k%3D&reserved=0>. All of these are reliable
and important sites to learn. After this you're on your own as I gave up.
Way too much to learn and not enough time for me. :) Not to mention I am
more of a Yaesu System Fusion type of person.

I hope the radio came with the programming cable. Go to Support & Download -
Baofengradioca to get the software you need to program the radio.
Go to RadioID - Home to get your DMR ID number. That number has to be
programmed into the radio along with your call sign. It's a 7 digit number.
Go to BrandMeister Talkgroup List - pistar.uk to see the list of talk groups
you can use.
I don't have a code plug for the radio.
There are three DMR repeaters in the Roanoke area and one on Mountain Lake.
Some talk groups:
Virginia Wide TG 3151
31510 Virginia chat
31513 Southwest Virginia
31515 Tidewater Virginia
31514 Shenandoah Valley
Mt Lake talk group 315128
West Virginia talk group 3154
The Mountain Lake Info.
Number Name Hardware Firmware TX RX CC
Status Master
315128 KD4BNQ
MMDVM (Repeater) 20181107_Pi-Star 441.8 446.8 1 Slot
1 & 2 linked 3102
When you have any questions feel free to ask.
