New River Valley Amateur Radio Club

Meeting was held over the air on club repeaters due to COVID-19 concerns.
In addition, a simultaneous Zoom session was held.



Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM

Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener

Full report sent to club reflector on Feb 6th. Resent Feb 20th prior to
meeting with a minor correction as received from Cindy Turner.



Treasurer’s Report – Cam Coble and Steve Allen

Club is in good standing financially. Should have sufficient funds for what
the club needs to do.  Three additional memberships were received. Based on
a vote taken at the November meeting, a donation of $200 was made to the
ARRL Spectrum Defense Fund using funds that normally would have gone
towards purchasing door prizes for the January meeting.



Repeater Update – Mike Herring

Had some interference issues recently and been trying to troubleshoot.
Please pass along information on any problems to him.



WinLink Update – Cam Coble for Danny Wylam

Both gateways were tested earlier today and are working.

Club Directions – Cam Coble

Slogan for 2021 is Let’s Radiate!  Want to help get everyone on the air.
Gut Check: Getting yoU Transmitting – club has helped three people so far,
another is currently in process, and two more (which are antenna related)
are waiting on better weather.  Let club members know if you need
assistance. There is a long tradition of “Elmering
<http://www.arrl.org/elmer-award>” in amateur radio!

Net Script – Cam Coble

The net script has been updated to reflect current activities and slimmed
down where appropriate.  The new script and the operator schedule can be
found at http://www.n4nrv.org/net-control-operators-schedule/



Net control operators should use the script as a guide but can also add
their personal style. Current events and announcements can be found at
https://www.n4nrv.org/announcements/



Audit Committee – Cam Coble

The constitution and bylaws require an annual audit of club finances.  Cam
Coble and Chris Peters will both serve on the committee.  Pete Burkey also
volunteered to serve as needed.  The committee should be ready to report
back at the March meeting.



Blings n’ Things - Cam Coble

This month’s discussion theme was “Quitcha Sittin' - What do you plan for
this year to move in ham radio?”
