Fox Hunt – Cam Coble
A fox hunt was held on May 8th. Turnout for the event was good. The
transmitter was hidden in a banana peel and was found by squirrels that
were not club members and who were believed to be using non-radio-based
search techniques. Cam will try not to “slip” up in this way again. Two
additional fox hunts will be held later in the year. Dates TBD.
Third and final call for check-ins.

Planning for Field Day – Cam Coble
Randolph Park location has been reserved. Participants should plan on
bringing their own food. Water and disinfectant wipes will be provided.
The stations will be spaced out and is outdoors so masks are not
required. Plan
to operate 3A plus a VHF/UHF station. Pete Burkey has made arrangements
for a generator – may be a different type than last year depending on
availability.
Audie Murphy Special Event on Saturday, May 29th – Danny Wylam
Information and details are on the club website. Plan to get an early start
and operate on Brush Mountain about 3/4th of a mile from the Audie Murphy
Memorial which is near the crash site. The event has been listed in the May
QST magazine.
New Member Application – the club voted to approve Lance Sheppard, KO4MWD.
Lance earned his General license in March of this year.
Blings n’ Things - Cam Coble
This month’s discussion theme was “Too Hot to Handle” – members talked
about their favorite soldering equipment.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM.
