[nrv-hams] Meeting Agenda - 10/26

 Hello everyone,
Below is our agenda for this evening's club meeting. We will meet over the
air via the club's repeaters starting at 7:00 PM.

Note that in November we will be scheduled to have our annual election for
officers. That means that this month we will be naming a nominating
committee. For your reference, I'm including the relevant portion of the
club bylaws here:

Section 5:  Annually, at the first meeting in October, the President will
appoint a temporary Nominating Committee to draft a recommended slate of
officers for the upcoming year. At the subsequent club meeting in November,
the membership shall elect by a two-thirds majority, a slate of officers
for the coming year. In addition to the slate of officers recommended by
the Nominating Committee, members may nominate candidates from the floor.
The newly elected officers will assume their official positions at the
first meeting in January of the new year. Presentation of the annual
reports by the incumbent President and Treasurer will be conducted at the
January meeting.

Our Bling n' Things theme for this month is "Gone in 30 Seconds." (No, this
has no relation to the similarly named movie!) Instead, picture that you
have 30 seconds to capture someone's interest in Amateur Radio. This is
also sometimes referred to as an "elevator speech" -  how can you spark
their interest before the door opens and they're gone?

Due to concerns about the Coronavirus the meeting will be over the air on
the club repeaters.

Cam Coble will serve as Net Control. There will be multiple calls for
check-ins so don’t worry if you join late, there will still be an
opportunity to get your name and call sign in.
