Minutes

09/28/2020

New River Valley Amateur Radio Club

Meeting was held over the air on club repeaters due to COVID-19 concerns

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM

Welcome and brief instructions from Cam Coble as President

Check-in of officers

First round of check-ins of members and other listeners

Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener

Full report sent to club reflector on September 22nd. No corrections or
additions received.

Treasurer’s Report – Steve Allen

Club is in good standing financially. One renewal and one new application
received. The only expenditure was for a prize for the 2020 club contest. A
detailed report has been shared with club officers. Plan to begin sending
renewal notices for 2021 in early November.

Repeater Update – Mike Herring

Everything seems to be going well with the repeaters. Please pass along
information on any problems to him.

WinLink Update – Danny Wylam

Both gateways were tested and are working. Had to go up to reset the one
on Brush Mountain.

Second round of check-ins of members and other listeners

*Old Business*

Club Contest Update –Everyone is encouraged to record their contacts and
submit online. Congratulations to James Pascoe, KN4MKX as the winner for
July. The August winner will be announced soon.

*New Business*

New member application was received from Robert “Wesley” Combs, KM4DQA. Robert
attended the recent club event in Randolph Park. Cam made a call for any
objections, concerns, or further discussion regarding his application. Hearing
none, Robert’s membership in the club was approved.

Steve Allen questioned whether people would feel comfortable sharing
concerns over the air. In the future, Steve will send details to the
secretary on any new members prior to the next meeting and Ed will include
them in the meeting announcements. That way any concerns can be shared
privately with the club officers in advance.

Third and final call for check-ins.

*Blings n Things *

Theme was “Made it Myself” – a chance to talk about best (or worst!)
projects.

Meeting adjourned at approximately 7:40 PM

There were a total of 12 check-ins plus net control.
