Report from the Nominating Committee - James Pascoe, who served as chair,
thanked other members Let Sutphin and Cindy Turner. The committee gave the
following recommendations:
President - Cam Coble
Vice President - Christopher Peters
Treasurer - Steve Allen
Secretary - Edward Lener
The floor was opened for discussion. Jim, W4BEA, moved to accept the
recommendations of the Nominating Committee. The motion was seconded by
Pete, W3WEQ. A roll call vote was held of all members present (excluding
the current officers, who were up for consideration). There was one
abstention but all others voted in favor of the motion.
Membership renewals – Cam shared that we want to get all renewals in by the
end of January. This enables the club to budget and plan for the coming
year. Some renewals for 2021 have already been received.
A new online form has also been created. This replicates the questions that
were on the paper form. Data will automatically feed into a spreadsheet.
Members will then have the option of paying via Paypal or of mailing in a
check to the club Treasurer. Paypal has a processing fee but the club will
save on postage. The club will follow up by mail with those who have not
responded. Comments and feedback on the new process are welcome and any
changes can be made as needed.
Eating Meeting – There will be no in-person meeting for January. While a
valued tradition the current situation with the pandemic means it is not a
viable option.
Club Donation – Since there will be no expenses for prizes for the January
meeting, the club officers recommended repurposing these funds as a
donation to the ARRL Spectrum Defense Fund
<http://www.arrl.org/spectrum-defense-fund>. The fund is used to represent
the needs of Amateur Radio by advocating for spectrum allocations at the
national and international level. Christopher, K4HZ, made a motion to make
a one-time donation of $200 to the fund. The motion was seconded by Mike,
KE4RGY. A roll call vote was held. There were seven votes in favor, five
against, and two abstentions so the motion passed.
*Blings n Things *
Theme was “All I Want for Christmas” – Tell us what (amateur radio related)
you NEED for Christmas!
Meeting adjourned at approximately 7:55 PM
There were a total of 16 check-ins plus net control.
