[nrv-hams] Reminder and Meeting Minutes

Everyone,
Monday is our next scheduled meeting date. This will be an over-the-air
meeting on the club repeaters and will start at 7:00 PM.  The Blings 'n'
Things theme for this month is "Road Pro" and will be a chance to talk
about mobile equipment.

Below are the minutes from our last meeting. Please send me any
corrections.  Also let me know if there is anything you would like to add
to the agenda for Monday night.

New River Valley Amateur Radio Club

Meeting was held over the air on club repeaters due to COVID-19 concerns



Meeting called to order at 7:00PM



Welcome and brief instructions from Cam Coble as President and serving in
the role of Net Control for the evening.



Check-in of officers



First round of check-ins of members and other listeners



Secretary’s Report – Edward Lener

Full report sent to club reflector on April 23. No corrections or additions
received.



Treasurer’s Report – Steve Allen (Not shared over the air, sent to officers
April 26th)



Repeater Update – Mike Herring

Both repeaters are currently working normally and functioning well. Fixed
squelch tone on receiver. Mike Harris called about the lease, will pass
along info.



WinLink – Danny Wylam

Same report as last month. Both stations are working. Had to go to Brush
Mountain and reset the computer there again.

*Old Business*

Club Contest Update – Cam encouraged everyone to record their contacts and
submit online.  Not many submissions are being received.



Field Day – Still planning for a physical event but also considering
alternate means. ARRL has distributed some information and suggestions for
ways of doing things differently.



Special Event Station – Danny Wylam indicated that we are now about one
month out. He is still planning to hold a special event at or near the
Audie Murphy memorial on May 30th.  If interested please contact him for
more details.



*New Business*

None. Cam suggested that any long discussions be saved for an in-person
meeting or held via the club repeater.





*Blings n Things *

Theme was Re-use as Muse

Several members shared things they had repurposed that were not originally
intended for Ham Radio use.
