[nrv-hams] February Club Meeting - Feb. 24th

Our next club meeting will be at the usual location in the Birthing Center
Conference Room at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery at 7:00 PM on Monday, Feb.
24th.

The hospital has worked well as a meeting site for the club and attendance
has been up since we moved there. Those of you who were on club the net
last night may have heard me express some concern over the meeting room
reservations for this year. In the past I've gone through Susan Smith but I
recently learned she is no longer working at the hospital. Cindy Turner
helped put me in touch with Susan's replacement (if you haven't already
discovered this, Cindy knows just about everyone in the area!)

In making my request for use of the space I tried to emphasize the public
service aspects of the club since unlike Susan the new contact likely had
little or no knowledge of who we are or what we do. I also stressed that we
always try to leave the room in good shape when we leave. In any event it
worked and we now have it booked for the coming year. We should be careful
though not to take the space for granted since we no longer have such a
direct connection with the hospital admin staff as before.
