[nrv-hams] IC-7300 and transverters

I'm looking into the IC-7300 as my next radio, but have had some
reservations on the basis of the integration with transverters.
I've done the google searches, youtube videos, etc. but have not found real
use information other than a kit that someone has to add a transverter
output (seems promising, but $$$).
I also haven't seen any native support for "offset" tuning so that if you
*were* to use it with a transverter, you'd had to do the calculations of
the displayed frequency vs. actual frequency yourself. Seems a bit
shortsighted for a software defined radio for sure.

So, does anyone have practical experience in using the IC-7300 with a
transverter? If so, what is your setup, headaches, and success?
