Hello everyone!
For anyone who is not aware, our club is going to be setting up an
information/demonstration tent at this year's Kids Fishing Rodeo at the
Izaak Walton League Park. A big thank you to Danny for all the work he has
put in to signal testing and planning. He, Jason, Bill and I will be
manning the tent. Many thanks to these guys for helping with that. Cam
has done a wonderful job helping me create the flyer that we will be
distributing, and Ben is going to be printing them for us. Thank you to
these guys as well.
I hesitate to thank folks by name for fear of missing someone, but I think
it is important that they be recognized. Their help has been and will be
extremely valuable in this endeavor. If I missed anyone, please forgive
me.
I also want to thank others who offered to help if needed. At this point,
everything seems to be covered. We have all the folks we need to man the
tent, and I think everything else is done. Since this is the first time
doing this event, we decided to keep it very simple to start and grow it in
the future if needed.
There is one way everyone can help, however. On the day of the event (see
attached flyer), if you can have your radios on and listen for us calling
for folks to talk to these kids, that would be great. Of course we have no
idea how much participation we will get, but if we have folks who are
interested, and they can talk to someone, that may help even more to
generate a future HAM.
Also, if you have kids or grandkids or know of someone who would like to
participate in the fishing rodeo, please share the attached flyer with them.
Thanks a bunch, and Happy Spring!
Cindy
