[nrv-hams] Help for bike ride

Hi Danny,

We are putting together a small SAG crew for the NRVBA's Burkes Garden
Century ride, August 18th. So far it's me in one vehicle and Patrick
Johnson and Christopher Peters in a second vehicle. We're hoping for one
more ham-radio-equipped SAG vehicle. Can you put out a call for a volunteer
or suggest someone who might be interested?

Ideally, the ham would carry out the SAG duties. But, if necessary, we
could try to recruit a ride-along SAG volunteer. Or a SAG volunteer who
would provide his own vehicle, if the ham's equipment can easily ride along
in the other vehicle.

Most years, SAG doesn't have much to do all day during the BGC. But stuff
happens. A couple years ago, we had multiple accidents, mostly among a
single large group of riders who were riding together -- and apparently
getting in one another's way.

I've waited too long to make this request. Now I've got a time crunch. I'm
leaving on a 10-day vacation next Thursday (August 02), during which I will
have little access to the Internet. It would be nice to have a plan in
place before I leave.
