Another N4NRV Fox Hunt!
It will be held this Saturday October 28th, after the Dutch Treat Breakfast
at Country Kitchen, Christiansburg, VA. (approx 10am thru 1pm).
This is an opportunity to share the fun with anyone!
Remember, you only need to be able to receive the signal. Directional
antennas are recommended, but not required.
We will have two transmitters, one on 2 meters, and another on 70 cm!
Frequencies will be revealed at the start of the event.
Go to our website for details.

One challenge that is a part of transmitter hunting is the navigational and
orienteering aspects. Triangulation requires understanding and use of
tools. These tools have typically been a topological map of the area,
pencils, compass, and keen eyes.
"But I just want to get out there and have fun!"
I hear ya! If you aren't used to using these tools, and have access to a
smart phone, I would recommend making use of the GPS/mapping capabilities
of your phone.
Below are a couple of apps that you may want to check out before the event
that have looked pretty helpful.
