Ok there are 14 Volunteer Examiner Coordinators recognized by the FCC.
Laurel Amateur Radio Club is one of those recognized VEC.
LARCVEC is one of the few that actually collects no fees for testing.
And the reason I am starting the local VE team is for testing the Classes I
teach and also testing at NRCC as well. (I have been given permission by
the VTARA that one of their sessions per Semester will be LARC.)
Currently when we do a ARRL session it takes 10-14 days for the results to
hit the FCC Database.
With LARC it is 5 days or less (depends on how the session is reported). I
have been a LARC VE for the last couple of years and we have been doing
testing in Roanoke. Our sessions in Roanoke are electronically submitted to
the Regional Coordinator and then the RC uploads to the FCC.
Our Roanoke session are consistently in the FCC Database the next Day.
Anyone who is already a ARRL VE is very easy to become a LARC VE
If there are any more question please contact me off list.
