For NRV Amateur Radio Club members interested in a list of NRV area
repeaters that provides the distance and compass bearing (from Radford), I
have posted a web page
<http://www.applied-cs-inc.com/nrvSample/repeaters.html> and a downloadable
CSV file <http://www.applied-cs-inc.com/nrvSample/Lrepeaters.csv> on my web
server.
Personally, I find a list with distance and bearing helpful when trying to
determine the effective range of my HT or other radios when testing
experimental antennae.
To that end, these lists are sorted to show the repeaters closest to the
point of origin (Radford) first. To sort the CSV file into a different
order, e.g. by frequency, call sign, bearing, etc., download it and
open/import into LibreOffice
<https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/> Calc (free)
[click on Data->Sort, <specify sort criteria>], or the spreadsheet program
of your choice.
As these files are generated automatically (mostly), I will update the
Radford file periodically. If anyone is interested in the shell script I
use to generate these files, I'd be happy to give you a copy. It runs on
Unix/Linux systems and Windows systems with Cygwin installed. It is
generously commented.
Also, as a service to NRV ARC members, I can generate similar lists for
other points of origin, and/or for different maximum distances.
Enjoy...
Dave
