Hi everyone!

Just a reminder that the last VTARA meeting of this school year is
tonight (April 27) at 7:15pm sharp in Squires 342 (where we were at the
start of the semester).

Our meeting will feature a presentation by Dr. Greg Earle (W4GDE), Harry
Han (KM4ICI), and myself on the 2017 "Great American" total solar
eclipse, its predicted effects on the ionosphere, and the VT lead
experiment to study these effects. The talk will focus on the use of ham
radio in this study and the need for VTARA involvement. After this
presentation and discussion, we will review VTARA's plans for the next
school year. Finally, Dr. McGwier will conclude the meeting with a demo
of the Flex 6700 and other fancy equipment.

Lastly, if any of you are not yet aware, longtime VTARA member Nathaniel
Frissell (W2NAF) successfully completed his PhD defense on Monday!
Everyone is invited to dinner at the Cellar (302 North Main Street, next
to Chipotle) at 5pm this evening to celebrate Dr. Frissell's achievement.

Hope to see you all there!
73,
Magda Moses, KM4EGE
VTARA Vice-President
