Danny Wylam, AI4RC, asked me on the net Thursday evening to repost this
email. I may start using Junior Diamond's new Linked System when doing
SKYWARN, but will have to do more testing.

Subject: Expanded Repeater Coverage
Carter,
I spoke with Junior Diamond, N4VL a few minutes ago and he has completed his
linking system with the 145.13. He has the system linked to a repeater on
Peaks Knob near Pulaski on 444.600 + 5 MHz with a tone of 103.5. He now has
a link on Poor Mountain on 145.41- 600 KHz with a tone of 103.5. These
repeaters are linked full time so if your work one you are being heard on
all repeaters. This extends coverage up to Lexington VA, down to
Martinsville, and west through Grayson County and about all the NC counties
in the Blacksburg watch area. This really ties together the Roanoke Valley
with deeper SW Virginia. I am not sure that a lot of people in Roanoke are
aware of this link but during an activation, it would be good to announce
this system.
The Poor Mountain link has far better coverage to the west than any of the
other Poor Mountain repeaters. This may come in handy during the impending
weather.

Glen, W4GHS
