To EmComm Members:
Vic Buisset of VDEM is working with a committee and Homeland Security to
bring AUXCOMM training to Virginia. These classes are taught by the
Department of Homeland Security and are uniform throughout the nation.
These are taught in a classroom setting and each location will accept only
30 people. The Prerequisites required are:
A General Class License
ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, and ICS-800
If you have not completed these ICS course, you can do so in a day and
these are available online . The classes are free. So if you are
interested you can let me know of your interest and still have plenty of
time to take these course before the AUXCOMM course is offered.
The class is 24 hours long and is taught over a 3 day period. Below is the
recent email from Vic Buisset.
“Good morning, Glen
I have a couple of quick questions for you.
>From your discussions, can you give me a approximate number of people you
know are interested in the class in your areas? Also, do you know of any
facilities in your area that may be willing to host the class at no cost?
I have my regional folks looking into facilities as well. I'm hoping to
have a pretty effective battle plan in place for my next meeting with DHS.
Thanks for the help
Vic”
Please help spread the word in your area and having anyone interested to
email me at w4ghs at arrl.net
Thanks,
Glen Sage, W4GHS
