The Red Cross mobile kitchen Spirit of America will be on the VT drill
field Oct 4 from 10am to 7pm. It is a tractor and trailer with the 53'
trailer being a full kitchen capable of preparing 30,000 + meals a day
during a disaster. It only deploys for a major disaster and its last
deployment was for hurricane Sandy. It is based in Roanoke.
Tours will be available. The driver is Jim Plympton and he was kind enough
to bring it to a couple of our field days.It is an impressive piece of
equipment and Jim is very dedicated to it and has spent weeks at some of
the worst hurricanes in recent years. Katrina, Sandy.
