I am facilitating a license prep class again this Spring in conjunction
with the Math Dept. and VTARA and NRVARC members. The sessions will run
Wednesdays 6:00 – 8:30pm starting March 19 and ending April 30th which is
planned to be a VE session, though I haven’t confirmed that with the VE
team yet. If I recall right we had 28 in the class last time. It is a one
credit elective for those who are interested in signing up for that
option. It is open to anyone in the community, no VT affiliation is
required.
In addition to letting people that are looking to get into ham radio and
who would prefer to cover this material in a group setting, I want to
invite all local hams to participate either by teaching or co-teaching a
chapter or just sitting at the tables with a group and being an Elmer as we
go through hands-on activities or have them discussing the material. The
past success of this activity has been due to having the participants meet,
and work with, local hams.
The registration form is at http://tinyurl.com/VT2014. Class members must
have a copy of the ARRL License Manual 2nd
edition<http://tinyurl.com/85lg8fb> and
must prepay the test fee of $15, details on the registration page.
If you are interested in helping please email me at n4ajt at vt.edu.
