Subject: [nrv-hams] Invitations from the Virginia Tech ARA (Including Welcome Back BBQ!)

Hello, members of the New River Valley ARC.

First, I would like to thank you again for allowing me to talk at your last meeting. I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you and share my experiences working at the Scout Jamboree.

Next, the Virginia Tech Amateur Radio Club had its first meeting of the semester tonight. We would like to invite you to our Welcome Back BBQ, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 12 PM at my house (1412 North Main Street, Blacksburg, right behind Carol Lee Donuts). The VTARA will be providing hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, and condiments with club funds. We are asking guests to bring side dishes, deserts, or any special beverages you may want. We really enjoyed having you over last year for our spring cookout, and hope to see you again.

Also, we invite you to participate in our meetings and other club activities. We are in the process of lining up an exciting list of speakers this year. Some of the speakers include Carter Craigie, N3AO, who will talk about QRP/Adventure Radio, and Bob McGwire, N4HY, who will show a fully-functional Flex 6700 radio. We have many other exciting talks as well!

The easiest way to keep up with our club activities is through our listserv, QRM. If you would like to join this listserv, please send me an e-mail and I will be happy to add you.

Thanks and 73,
Nathaniel, W2NAF
