Everyone , I want to say thanks for another FD. We all need to remember that FD is a fun event for everyone ham or non ham. When we make a mistake that's call learning. Better to do it having fun them when we are trying to serve our communities. I did not get to be at the site other then setup but I had a blast with it. I was really great seeing the young folks showing interest in the hobby. THANKS again to all.

Since the GOTA station was our only phone station new and experienced hams enjoyed it. We can just be 3A and not count a GOTA. The main thing is everyone who used it enjoyed it , especially Ethan, Evan, and Deanna. 73 Danny On 06/27/13, Ben Williams<jbwillia at math.vt.edu> wrote: 1st i will take the blame for the Gota Station not being run as it should have.Carter you asked why to Gota station was not on the Air at 2pm, it was because i got to the site and realized that i had left the microphone and a usb-rs232 cable at home in my shack so i had asked Cathy to retrieve them but she ended up having to run to Roanoke to help a stroke victim friend of ours return to the hospital. So that meant I had to return home thus returning to the site late. And as Field Day Chairman I stopped and picked up the Hamburgers and Hotdogs. by the time I returned to the site it was time to start cooking. I hope the ones who tried the pulled pork bbq and the chilli beans enjoyed them. As with everything else i was spread too thin to run the GOTA station as it should have been ran and i will accept that failure.Next Year i want to do more digitial modes myself and like other things this weekend the laptop i use for the digitial modes kept locking up everytime i had a contact come back to i couldnt finish the QSO.I want to Thank everyone that came out to participate in Field Day, whether bringing equipment, radios or food, and especially want to thank Dannie who help with the cooking and we both were the ones up all nite.Next Year is a new year, but we have learned some lessons, the biggest is that when it comes down to it, if we all work together we can overcome almost any obstacle even if some of those obstacles are personalities, missing equipment, and malfunctioning antennas. To the Field Day Chairperson next year I wish you good luck and you will have my support of my radios antennas and Mast. After this year i am very much debating spending a week in the kitchen before Field Day..______________________________________________________________nrv-hams mailing listHome: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/nrv-hamsHelp: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htmPost: mailto:nrv-hams at mailman.qth.netThis list hosted by: http://www.qsl.netPlease help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
