[nrv-hams] Ground Radials Installation Party--N3AO and N3KN QTH

I invite you all to come to our home at 570 Brush Mountain Road, just north of Blacksburg, to lend a hand in laying 65-foot-long radial wires in our back woods. These wires will provide the ground plane for our upcoming 160-meter vertical antenna. I need a total of about 30-40 radials laid, but don’t expect that we can reach anywhere near that high number next Saturday afternoon. But we might just be able to make a good start on the project! Liquid refreshments will be provided.

WHERE: 570 Brush Mountain Road, Blacksburg, VA.    Drive to the top of Brush Mountain on route 460 and then turn south  on Brush Mtn. Rd. (Don’t turn toward Mountain Mission Church/Road.) Our house about 9 turns down the road, on the left. Look for a big black plastic mailbox with a small Hokie Bird banner beneath it. Drive up the driveway and park wherever you can find a place.

WHEN: 3:00-5:30, next Saturday afternoon, June 15

WHAT TO BRING: Work gloves, pliers, boots (?), long pants (?), rubber mallet to hammer in plastic wire staples (?)

IF we get RAIN STORMS, we will have to postpone.
