To all from AB4I:
I am planning on helping out with the NRVARC Field Day effort this year and
will manning one of the CW stations (naturally) and operate through the
night, if the station is not too busy. I will also help anyone and everyone
who wishes to make CW contacts, but need a little help to do it. I will
bring my 10-watt K2, same as last year, plus keyer and paddle. If I can
make a suggestion, a bit more separation of antennas should allow us to have
phone and CW on the same band at the same time. The filters help with band
to band interference, but only separation will get us same band operations.
If we could scrounge up a vertical and put it a couple of hundred feet away,
that should do the trick. I worked the west coast on 80M CW with 10-watts
last year and could have worked Alaska and Hawaii too, if I had had a
vertical antenna instead of a low dipole. Hope for good propagation on
10-meters.
73,
Donnie, AB4I
