The 2012 Field Day results are out, and the N4NRV entry ranks 18th out of 83
entries from Virginia. That's great! We outscored our friends in the Roanoke
Valley ARC (W4CA), which finished in 19th place, by 148 points. With a
similar number of operators, RVARC made an impressive 359 more QSOs than we
did. The way you out-score a club that makes a lot more total contacts is by
making a lot more CW contacts than they do. CW contacts are worth more
points than phone contacts.

Nothing like a little friendly regional rivalry to increase the fun, but of
course the score is only part of the story of Field Day. Our Field Day
operation welcomes everybody to get on the air, whether you're an
experienced HF operator or a newcomer. Put Field Day 2013 on the calendar
now (June 22-23) and let's see if we can improve our score, give even more
people a chance to get on the air, and have even more fun than in 2012.
