Carter came home from the hospital on Friday afternoon. He's in a fair
amount of discomfort and runs out of steam rather quickly, but he is able to
walk around the house a lot, as the doctor told him to do. He doesn't have
much appetite yet so I bug him a little about eating. Considering the major
chop job the doctor had to do on his lower spine, I think he's doing very
well -- and not all of it is better living through chemistry, if you get my
meaning. Thanks to everybody for your continuing good wishes. He's sorry to
have to miss the bike race communications this weekend but hopes to be back
