Don't forget that Ham Radio Deluxe is still free. That is an awesome suite
of programs, digital, logging, and rig control for most rigs out there.
Now the caveat, when they come out with HRD,s version 8 at Dayton, they are
going to be charging for it from then on. If you keep the lower version, I
would guess that it will still be free. Right now with no idea of what is
in version 6, nobody has an idea of what is going to be in it. They want
$59.95 for the pre show and show version 6, and after Dayton the will be
charging $75! As far as I am concerned, until I find out what the big
difference is going to be I will stay with the free stuff. Hams are
notorious cheap skates when it comes to buying software. :0) Another not
free program that is very reasonable is N3FJP's AC Log program, it is a very
simple one, that you can customize or run as you please and the Yahoo group
is excellent to work with. His other programs, (and he has a lot) one is
for Field Day logging, and it can be put onto a network for multiple users
to use. If you buy the whole kit and caboodle, it is still well worth it.
He will send you a disc or you can always download from the web site. All
of his updates are free.
