Howdy -

We're doing telegraphy on Wednesday, August 8, from 3:15-4:00.  We have an old telegraph machine with a key, attached to a large battery.  I thought the person could briefly discuss the invention and importance of the telegraph during the 19th century (especially during the Civil War and linking the continent during westward expansion), teach some simple Morse code, and then the kids could try their hand at it.  There are 10-12 kids, aged 8 - 11.
