[nrv-hams] Ugly intermod

Russ,

You hear multiple ID's because we have them linked on the
actual channels and not on another frequency upstream of the
controllers. The 2M repeater is just listening to the 440 like it
was a second receiver so when the 440 ID's it gets re-broadcasted on
2M and vice versa. So 2M sends it's ID like normal and then it
'hears' the 440 ID and just repeats it.

If you listen close you can tell the difference in the time
stamps. The clocks are about 10 seconds apart and the .18 will ID
first in 12 hour format and the 440 will ID second in 24 Hour format.

For the rest of the group I sent this to Len this morning:

The intermod is on the input to the 440 machine. I was worried that
it would be a problem when I put a pre-amp on it with that little
duplexer. (Notch cavity) Problem is that if I remove the pre-amp the
regency receiver is pretty much deaf (.6 uV).

Somewhere I have a 460 bandpass cavity set so I will try to find them
over the next couple weeks and see if I can tune it up and move it to
440. That should help.

The noise is there a lot more than we hear but the CTCSS has it
blocked most of the time. What is getting through has enough energy
to blast past the decoder and open the receiver.
