[nrv-hams] Big News on Max

Hi again, Everybody,

 

Last evening MAX ORR WB8FLE CALLED ME--Yes, you read that right: Max called
ME on the telephone!!!

I was thrilled, needless to say! His voice sounded VERY STRONG and POSITIVE!

And the biggest news is that he was released from the hospital!!! Yes, that
is right, so no need to send your QSLs and get-well cards to the Kettering
Medical Center, as he is no longer there. I did not have the "smarts" to ask
for the new address--an extended stay hotel--where he and Mary will be
staying for the next week or so. When Mary calls me again, or when she
emails me, I will get the new address.

 

This extended stay hotel is very nice, both he and Mary said. It is roomy
and bright, with a lovely bedroom, living room, and breakfast nook. They
were both very pleased to be here, about a 15-minute drive from the
hospital. Both of them need rest, rest, and some more rest!

 

There are no tubes or dressings or anything on Max. He just needs time to
re-build his strength. After the phone call he said he was about to take a
hot shower, the first one in a long time! When he and I signed off on the
phone we both said we are looking forward to them being back home in Giles
County, and to the prospect of us sitting together in the rocking chairs on
their front porch, enjoying their beautiful view! Really a positive way to
end the phone call, I thought!
