Thanks to Kay N3KN for giving us encouragement to work this weekend's
contest at last week's meeting. I just did it for a few hours total and
had a 105 QSO in 19 zones including Alaska and Hawaii which I have never
worked from here. I don't seem to get out to the west much. Had I worked
harder I would have gotten a Japan contact, I was hearing them well, but it
was near the end of the contest and lots of others wanted that zone 35
contact.
It is amazing what can be done with simple antennas and older radios.
Thanks to the local ham who supplied the rig I used and for the auto
antenna tuner that makes running around the bands so easy.
What a great hobby! I don't recall any cross words the whole time.
