[nrv-hams] VT bike race is on!

Group,

     I spoke with the VTARA contact a short while ago regarding  
Saturday's race, and he said it is on, regardless of weather.  He said  
the race coordinator told him that if there is lightning in the area  
then the race may be delayed a short while.

    The rally point will be the Newport Rec Center, I was asked to get  
the NRV ARC operators there around 0600 Saturday morning.  At that  
time we will be assigned locations on the race course.

    At the moment I have definate commitments from Pete W3WEQ, Ron  
N4AJT, Charlisanna KJ4DMS, and myself KJ4TRT.  With possibles from a  
few other operators.  If you're game for working an event under  
potentially adverse conditions please drop me an e-mail or give me a  
call on the repeater today.

    I would like to have 7-10 operators available Saturday morning so  
we can ensure a safe race in less than ideal conditions.

Bring with you:
*an HT or moble 2M rig
*Lunch, we may get fed, but I wouldn't count on it
*A sense of adventure/humor
*A change of dry clothes?

    On tonight's net I will provide the race frequencies we will be  
operating on and any additional information I hear.
