Robert Elliot Anderson, 87, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, April 9,
2011. He was born in Roanoke on March 29, 1924 to the late Walter C. and
Myrtis T. Anderson. He was a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church, a World
War II<http://www.legacy.com/legacies/ww2/?personid=150200203&affiliateID=1745>veteran
and received the first US Army annual MARS trophy for Outstanding
MARS for member year 1969. He was the founder and owner of Radio
Communications for 60 years. He was also a lifelong member of the Roanoke
Valley Amateur Radio Club, K4UMK. He is survived by his wife of 55 years,
Patsy H. Anderson; daughter, Barbara Cisco; granddaughters, Grace and Megan
Cisco, of Roanoke; his son, Robert Anderson Jr. and wife, Tina, of
Evergreen, Colo.; his brother, James T. Anderson and wife, Alva, of Roanoke
and their daughters, Susan Card and husband, Ed and Martha Martin and
husband, William, of Roanoke; and great-nieces and great-nephews. In lieu of

Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Colonial Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
Brent Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery with
military honors by the US Army. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8
p.m. on Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
