ok, i'll get the ball rolling,

i have been working (work has been going off and on for over a year on
this) on a novice transmitter described in the 1961 arrl handbook (page
171). it's a three band oscillator transmitter that uses a 6DQ6A as the
final. i have the tubes (and neon bulb) to construct the project, but my
question is the transformers.

i scrapped an old tube stereo amplifier, a Pilot model 240 for the
transformers, tube sockets, chassis etc. my question is, how do i measure
what type of transformers i have? there is one larege and two small
transformers that came with the amp.

this seems to be a simple question, but this is the first tube prject i
have tackled and i do not know how to measure the electrical value of
transformers.

can't wait to get this finished as it will go with my halicrafters s38-c.
too bad i did not have it finished for straight key night!
