Hello fellow NLRSers,
If you have not already done so, there is still time to register for the Northstar Radio Convention at Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, to be held on Saturday, October 10. Yes, I believe that is also the monthly breakfast day, but the convention also offers coffee and treats! No, it's not a true VHF+ weak-signal gathering, but it is still a day of informative and interesting activities--forums, including ARRL, a foxhunt, a GOTA station, a QSO party, a youth area, and, yes, a swap area. New this year is a test-bench area, for evaluating radio equipment and digital meters. Registration is $20 until this Thursday, and lunch is also optionally available. Details are at
If you need incentive, remember that NLRS is a generous sponsor of this event, and will have a table there.
If you need more incentive, several well-known NLRS members are scheduled to present sessions--Bruce, W9FZ, will discuss his experiences with 10GHz portable rainscatter, and JB, K8OS, will offer his investigation of a reduced-footprint 160m antenna. How's that for covering the spectrum?
Finally, if anyone going would be willing to help me out for a few minutes around lunch-time, kindly e-mail me at N0SUW[at]ARRL[dot]net, or text to 612-913-8358.
Thanks for the bandwidth, and enjoy the week.
Cheers & 73,
Paul
