This past weekend I went up the to UP for the 10ghz contest. I ended up with 76 qsos to the north shore rovers, 4 qsos to the Canadian group, 1q with K2yaz and 1q rainscatter with k0awu. All qs made via ssb. K0awu was my best dx in the contest at 428 kms.

Conditions across the lake were fantastic. On Saturday everyone started out s9 plus in the morning and by the end of the day everyone was pegging my s meter at 60 over. Sunday as the rovers were as close as they would get were the weakest of the weekend. After there first few stops signals grew and grew again pegging the s meter. When I worked VE4MA he was stronger from across the lake then the other 4 stations within 50ft of me.

A sub goal of the contest was to try and activate some grids on 10g eme. I stopped once on my way north Friday on the EN55/56 grid line and easily worked W5lua followed by KM0T on eme. I then tried for a while with N1AV with no success.

Saturday afternoon from Mt Brockway I successfully worked W5lua but failed with Km0t and N1av. My best guess as to why I couldn't work Mike and Jay are my lack of erp.

Station used for all contacts was offset 1m dish, modified feed to wr90 switch, du3t preamp, 14.5w sspa and kuhne g5 transverter with IC705.

Unsure what I'm doing for the September weekend but looking forward to some more 10ghz fun.
